Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

New York City Rescue Mission has always stood with neighbors through hardships and disasters. But the COVID-19 health crisis presented new challenges like we hadn't encountered before. Thanks to the urgent compassion of friends like you, we remain open every day to serve people experiencing homelessness, poverty and other crises.

Since we joined forces with The Bowery Mission in 2017, many people in New York City have been able to find safety and critical care. Together, we continue to meet needs and offer hope during this pandemic. Learn more about our response at bowery.org/covid19.

New York City Rescue Mission has joined forces with The Bowery Mission & Goodwill Rescue Mission

Together, we are effectively combating the epidemic of homelessness affecting nearly 70,000 people in New York City and meeting the needs of significantly more people across the region. Leveraging over 400 years of combined service, three historic organizations have united to re-imagine the fight against poverty and homelessness. Together, we will be known as The Bowery Mission and this partnership has been made possible through the faithfulness of generous supporters.

Your Support Matters

We’re serving more through your generosity

From eight campuses in greater New York City, Newark and the Poconos region of Pennsylvania, we're saying “yes” to more people, more often and with better services.

Each meal and night of shelter offers guests the opportunity to choose help and address their immediate needs. Your support is expanding our shelter and residential programs across the region to help more clients make progress in a safe, supportive community.

Thanks to you, we have been keeping our doors open to safely serve New Yorkers in crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, in collaboration with The Bowery Mission and Goodwill Rescue Mission, we provided:

258,000
meals

56,000
nights of shelter

Continuing a legacy of service

Since the 1870s, neighbors experiencing homelessness, hunger and other crises have turned to New York City Rescue Mission for hope and second chances. Building on this legacy, we are now able to offer even more and better services at our same location on 90 Lafayette Street in Tribeca, and at seven additional campuses in the New York metro area. We hope you’ll continue to support as we serve more people in more neighborhoods.

Volunteer with us

As three of the oldest organizations providing care and services for the impoverished and afflicted, we have rebuilt hope and transformed countless lives of neighbors in need since the 1870s. Today, united with The Bowery Mission, we provide a full continuum of care, with the goal of preventing and ending homelessness. These services include: meals, shelter, medical care, short- and long-term residential programs, collaborative social services for the unemployed and working poor, safe housing for women in distress, and mentoring and enrichment programs for children.
